Equity Release Council launched the adviser summit back in November 2023
The inaugural Adviser Summit took place on November 15, 2023, in the Midland Hotel, Manchester, supported by headline sponsor Aviva.
The summit attracted over 150 advisers, 4 plenary sessions, 4 breakout sessions including round table discussions.
Highlights included:
The Financial Ombudsman Service’s Simon Pugh took a deep dive into complaints and how to improve customer outcomes.
In addition to the deep dive, he gave advisers quick tips on how to avoid complaints, in a session facilitated by the Council’s risk, policy and compliance manager Sue Read.
Mark Burns, Head of Department for Cross-Market Intervention at the Financial Conduct Authority, talked through some findings from the FCA’s recent Lifetime Mortgage Advice Review, and the sector’s readiness for the Consumer Duty.
Keynote speaker Carl Honoré, an award-winning writer, broadcaster and two-time TED speaker.
